Mac OS 10.15 Catalina has officially been released!

Hello, This is Easy&Light!

Finally Mac OS 10.15 Catalina has officially been released.

Catalina is one of the island names in America.

I think the name is quite nice!

In the beta, we checked new features and changes.

And I have checked changed features again after releasing the official version.

I briefly introduce some of the changes!

Firstly, this is the wallpaper of Catalina Island.

It goes well with the newly added dark mode.

You can update to Catalina from "About This Mac" - "Overview".

The download capacity is 8.09GB.

If you download directly from the Mac Store, 

the download capacity might be 5GB.

Catalina has no iTunes anymore and all music feature has been divided into three apps: Music, podcasts, Apple TV

If you update to Catalina, your music in iTunes is automatically saved in the music app!

In addition, video files stored in iTunes video are saved in "Apple TV"app.

The library is empty like a photo above because there are no videos stored in iTunes.

One of the apps divided by iTunes is the "Podcast" app.

Search feature makes it easy to find the contents you are looking for.

Even if you don't know the title, you can easily search for the contents by just searching for people.

Whether they're a host or a guest, you can search easily.

It's the "sidecar" feature that Mac users most expect and wait for.

This function can be used as a dual monitor by connecting to an iPad.

Both wireless and wired connections are possible.

When you launch the sidecar, it will look like the screen above.

If it is connected to an iPad, the "Connect to:" will display your device connected.

Then, select the iPad you want to connect to and it will be connected.

You can set showing touch bar and the location.

However, to use this sidecar function, we need a supported Mac and iPad.

Next is the arcade.

Apple Arcade, which was not available in Korea, now has an Arcade services tab in the Mac App Store.

Apple Arcade costs 6,500won monthly subscription.

All games offered by the arcade service without additional payment and without advertising!

Including 5 family members, there are 6 people to enjoy.

One month free trial is also available.

 This is voice control function.

In Catalina, you can now run all of your Mac's features using voice control.

You can edit not only the app but also the document you are writing.

You can search anything with just your voice!

You can activate the function by going to voice control in Accessibility of Setting.

There was also a small change in the notes app.

Added the function to view the list of notes in the from of a gallery!

I think it's easier to find the notes you want at a glance.

If you use the memo function frequently, I think it will be very convenient and useful.

There was a big change in the reminders app.

At a glance, the view has been changed to an easy to see view.

You can add time, date easily.

With the changed reminder app,  you can manage your important schedule easier and faster!

Once again, I feel that Catalina really cares about usability for the user.

It's very intuitive and makes your Mac even more efficient!

However, as there is still a problem in app compatibility,

If you are thinking about updating, make sure app supports Catalina.

I strongly recommend updating !
